Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corporation
Anshan Iron and Steel Group, the second-largest steel maker in China by output,〔(China to merge two steel makers )〕 focuses on producing high-end products such as electroplating, color-coated, and silicon flat steel products to make car bodies and computer and telecommunications equipment.〔(Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation )〕 It is headquartered in Anshan, Liaoning, one of the most important steel production sites in China.
The group was formerly Anshan Iron & Steel Works and Showa Steel Works, which was established in 1916 under Japanese rule in Northeast China. Anshan Iron and Steel Company was established from the two places in 1948.〔(Brief introduction of Anshan Iron and Steel Group ) 〕 In 2005, the company merged with Benxi Iron and Steel Group.〔(Anshan and Benxi Iron and Steel Groups Merge )〕
Anshan Iron Ore are currently (Oct/Nov 2011) implementing an SAP ERP system provided by IDS Scheer, and an Ampla MES provided by Schneider-Electric China.
